This second installment of the Wilbarger County Series joins Sheriff Wade Adams and Lizzie Fletcher as they investigate murder. Wade and Lizzie attend a dinner party near the small community of Rayland, Texas. One week later, one the guests is murdered.  With his only female deputy out on maternity leave, Sheriff Adams makes a quick decision to deputize Lizzie. That decision proves to be good for the department but damaging to their relationship. The Sheriff and his deputies follow every possible lead to no avail.  Lizzie happens to overhear a conversation that gives them the break they need. With little time to spare, Sheriff Adams and his team rush to prevent yet another death.

Are you a full-time or part-time writer?  How does that affect your writing?
I’m a full time teacher and a part time writer. As a result, my writing time is primarily limited to weekends and school breaks. I do most of my writing during the summer.

What are some day jobs that you have held?  Did any of them impact your writing?
I’ve held a number of day jobs. I’ve been a field hand, a church secretary, a weekend custodian, a doctor’s assistant, a cashier, and a customer service representative. If any of my day jobs have influenced my writing, I would say that it would be teaching. I’ve written projects for the students and reports for the school district.

What do you like to read in your free time?
I don’t have a lot of free time but when I do have time to read, I’ll pick up a favorite Agatha Christie novel or something new by one of my favorites or an author I’m not familiar with. It’s a safe bet that it will be a mystery or a thriller.

What projects are you working on at the present?
I’m currently working on the third book of the Wilbarger County Series. I don’t have a title yet but Lizzie, Wade, and Drake will be back. Megan may be back.

If you could speak with any accent from anywhere in the world, what would you choose?
Would I have to give up my Texas drawl? If I did, I suppose it would be for an Irish brogue.
