Intensity. Skill. Tenacity.
The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency have it all.
When a photo leads investigators in West Ireland to open a twenty-five-year-old cold case, Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan’s life is suddenly in danger. Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she’s made a career out of taking care of others. But after she has an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her—and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he’s not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.
In a sweeping plot that takes them into long-buried memories—and the depths of the heart—Haley and Steven will have to solve the mystery of Haley’s past while dodging bullets, bombs, and bad guys who just won’t quit.

What did you enjoy most about writing Chasing Secrets?
Writing THE END. LOL. No, seriously, I enjoyed the research into Ireland.
Where did your love of stories come from?
I grew up with a mother who read every chance she got. When she wasn’t chasing us kids or running errands, she had her nose in a book. Or was reading one to us.
Who are some of your favorite authors you feel were influential in your work?
Some favorite authors were/are Dee Henderson (my mentor!), Brandilyn Collins, Terri Blackstock, and Colleen Coble. These four were probably most influential. Dee basically taught me how to write.
What do you like to read in your free time?
Mostly romantic suspense and historicals.
Chasing Secrets is full of bullets, bombs, and bad guys. What is the key to capturing the adrenaline of those moments on paper? When I write, it’s almost like I’m transcribing a movie that’s playing out in my head. When the words spill out onto the computer screen, I guess that high-intensity comes across. Which is really cool.
What was the hardest part of writing Chasing Secrets?
Choosing Haley’s background story.
How important are names to you in your books?
I have a Writer’s Digest book of names and their meanings. They’re listed in alphabetical order. So…I simply go there or to a link online and pick a name that starts with a different letter than any other names in the story. It’s totally random. I’m flabbergasted at authors who spend HOURS picking names for their characters. I’m glad it works for them, but I’d much rather be writing and getting words in the computer than worrying about what to name my characters.
Bodyguards like Haley Callaghan get into some sticky situations. Would you ever want to be a bodyguard? Me?? Absolutely not! I’m the biggest chicken in the world! It’s easy to write that stuff, but I sure don’t want to live it.
What book do you wish you could have written?
All the ones that have made millions of dollars.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
To have supersonic hearing.
Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
I’d love to travel all over Europe to the places I haven’t been, like Greece, Rome, and Italy. I’d also love to visit Brazil, Ecuador, and Panama.
If you could speak with any accent from anywhere in the world, what would you choose? British. LOL. I love that accent.
What’s something fun or funny that most people don’t know about you?
I can write scary stuff, but I sure don’t want to watch it on television or at the movies!
If you were an animal in a zoo, what would you be?
A hibernating bear.
What can we expect from you in the future? I’m now working on the Blue Justice series. It’s about a family of cops and their many adventures while they keep the streets of their city safe. I just recently turned in book 1, called Oath of Honor. I’m about six chapters into book 2, Called To Protect, and am looking forward to seeing how it shapes up. I’m also working on another novella collection with Dee Henderson and Dani Pettrey.
What do you want your tombstone to say?
A child of God, a servant of the King, a life-changer for Christ. Or something to that effect.
Lynette Eason is the bestselling author of the Women of Justice, Deadly Reunions, and Hidden Identity series, as well as Always Watching, Without Warning, and Moving Target in the Elite Guardians series.
