Ricki Sheridan traveled a long way to seek refuge at Wolf Den's Lodge high in the mountains after a devastating betrayal. Heartbroken, she signed up for a survivalist backpacking trip to live off the land and forget. An injury on the first day puts her in the capable hands of the handsome trail boss, Kory Littleton. The attraction is instant, mutual, and terrifying. She trusted her emotions once and vowed never to make the same mistake again. Kory's heart, trampled and bruised, is unprepared to ever love again, until his unexpected reaction to Ricki reveals some things are worth taking a chance on. When evil finds its way back into Ricki's world, their fragile bond is tested, forcing them to face their greatest fear: can a wounded heart ever trust anew? Betrayal. Desire. Revenge. Which one prevails?

Praise for That One Moment:

Patty Wiseman, as well as anyone and better than most, sure knows how to write the three basic ingredients of a page-turning and unforgettable novel: mystery, suspense, and romance.

"It was pure perfection!"
- Jessa, Amazon Reviewer

"Author Patty Wiseman does a good job of injecting so much action into just the first two pages that I had high expectations for this story. And That One Moment does not disappoint."

INTERVIEW WITH PATTY WISEMAN

Where did your love of storytelling come from?
Picture a four-year-old little girl hiding under the stairwell late at night listening to her grandmother’s colorful stories of her life as young woman growing up in the Roaring Twenties. Those stories sparked my own imagination and the rest is history.

How does your book relate to your own life path and experiences?
My first book was a direct influence of my grandmother’s life during a time when women really began to step out and pursue careers outside of home and family. I wrote about her strength and determination, but my books going forward have been about women overcoming difficult obstacles in life. That One Moment is different. It’s contemporary and I took elements of my own life experiences and used them in the book. The most prevalent obstacle in the book is learning to trust someone again.

What projects are you working on at the present?
All my books tend to gravitate toward women overcoming obstacles in life. My next book is geared toward older women in the workplace. My character is 56 years old. The book begins deep in the West Texas mountains. Is there romance? You betcha! Is there intrigue? Oh yeah! I’m having fun turning my attention to older women and the enormous value they have in this world today. It’s really fun to write. That One Moment’s Ricki Sheridan was thirty something, I’m stepping it up a bit.

What question do you wish someone would ask about your book, but nobody yet has?
All my books have secondary characters. In That One Moment, the most popular secondaries are Martha and Wolf. Some ask what happens with Martha and Wolf, but none have asked how they met. I’m developing a story on their interesting lives, how they met, their romance, etc.
